Her best-known role is her parts in Spamalot's West End revival, the Regent's Park revival of Into the Woods and as The Wizard of Oz (as the Wicked Witch of the West). Her work has been recognized by three Olivier Award nominations. In 2015, she joined the Game of Thrones cast as Septa Unella in the fifth season's sixth season. In addition to her primary role as Septa Unella, she was also an ensemble participant in the film adaptation that was made in 2012 of Les Miserables as well as the 2018 British psychological thriller Winter Ridge. Waddingham was nominated for the Golden Globe Award.
