Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris (born October 20 1964) was an American lawyer, politician, and the current vice president of United States. She is the first woman to be elected vice president, and she also holds the title of most powerful female officer in the history of America. As a member of the Democratic Party, she has been attorney general for California between 2011 and 2017 and was a United States senator representing California until 2021. Harris was born in Oakland and graduated from Howard University, University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Following her first job as an Alameda County District Attorney Harris was enlisted to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Later she became the City Attorney of San Francisco. The office was named San Francisco district attorney in 2003. Harris was elected Attorney-General of California in 2010 and reelected in 2014. Harris served as the junior United States Senator from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris beat Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election to become the 2nd African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. As a senator , she supported healthcare reform, federal descheduling for cannabis, a pathway for undocumented immigrants to become citizens and the DREAM Act and a ban on assault weapons. She also supported progressive tax reform. Her name is well-known due to her direct questions to Trump government officials in Senate hearings.
